Okay, I finally watched this, and it was a good end to a good show. I've only just watched it, so it hasn't had a lot of time to sink in. I love that Will ended up with Vince and that they had a baby together. And I love that Ben and Lila ended up getting married (predictable, but nice). I got kind of misty during the bar scene. In fact, I'm a little misty right now. This show meant a lot to me back in the day, and it's kind of bittersweet to see it end. It makes me think a lot about my own circle of friends and how much I miss all of them. Okay, enough blubbering like an idiot.
First of all, I'm glad that Sark made it through alive. If they ever do a reunion movie, we're all set. :) Part of me hoped we'd see him renounce his evil ways and cross over to the good side, but the ending rather fits him. He works best in shades of gray (dark gray). Loved his, "you might have told me not to wear $500 shoes" line.
Marshall's scenes were really terrific. He wanted his son to be proud of him, so that gave him the strength he needed to survive.
Now Jack. *sniff* I was a mess from the time Sloane shot him until he blew himself up. Many of you probably know that I have a thing about dads and daughters. I lost my own dad a few years ago, and so, the scene with Jack lying there, bullet in his chest, Sydney bawling, and him trying to comfort her...yeah, that was hard.
When he showed up in the cave, I was confused. I was grading papers at the time, and that was distracting me, but when he first showed up, I didn't know if Sloane was hallucinating or if Jack had died, and he was a ghost or if he'd been healed somehow.
Jack's noble sacrifice was fitting end, but it was still hard to watch.
Overall, an emotional and well-done finale.
