Update and a Fun Ship Meme

sherydenIt's been a productive day. I got my sink fixed (short version: it was leaking, now it's not), did my grocery shopping, worked on end-of-semester grading, did five loads of laundry, and cleaned a bit.
Happy moment: I found Pop Tarts on sale for A DOLLAR!!! There have been days I subsisted on Pop Tarts, so that's a big deal.
And now, I'll do a meme, because I haven't done one in a long time.
1. If you write, fandoms you have written/are writing/plan to write and favorite ships:
Have Written: Webb/Mac (JAG), Reed/Hayes (Enterprise), Jack/Daniel (Stargate: SG-1), John/Rodney (Stargate: Atlantis), Sean/Emma (X-Men), Speed/Tyler (CSI: Miami), Speed/Eric (CSI: Miami), Eric/Calleigh (CSI: Miami), Danny/Flack (CSI: NY), Danny/Stella (CSI: NY), Nick/Greg (CSI)
Are Writing: Nothing at the moment, though I have some WIPs. After I finish my thesis, then I can write.
Plan to Write: Nick/Greg (CSI), Remus/Sirius, something Weasley-oriented, possibly Percy/someone or Ron/Hermione. I'd love to write an "Arthur/Molly at Hogwarts" fic.
2. Fandoms/Pairings you are ADDICTED to at the moment: I have Shipping ADD, I think. :p Right now, my obsessions are: Harry Potter (Ron/Hermione, experimenting with Percy ships, Remus ships, and the ever-elusive Charlie ships). And to a lesser degree, CSI: NY (Danny/Flack) and Nick/Greg
3. Fandoms/Pairings you like, but aren't necessarily obsessed with: Molly/Arthur, Jack/Ennis, Will/Sydney, Ryan/Calleigh, John/Rodney, Jack/Daniel, Billy/Teddy, Bobby/JP, Peter/JP, Webb/Mac, Sean/Emma (five of which are canon).
4. Fandoms/Pairings you're new to, but enjoying: I'm dancing around a possible Sark/Sydney pairing. At first, I didn't want to ship Sark with anyoneexcept me, but I think he would work with Sydney.
Also, I've warmed to Remus/Tonks, basically because I want Remus to have real happiness and if she can do that, I support it. And I've seen the actress who will play Tonks in OotP, and she's rather hot.
5. You can choose one non-canon pairing you love to become canon (in a good way that the writers don't screw up). Who do you pick? Remus/Sirus, even if we only saw it through flashbacks or Pensieve memories.
6. You're only allowed to read fic from one fandom (any pairing) for the next three weeks. What fandom do you choose? Harry Potter
7. You're allowed to refer to your favorite ship only by a shipper name. What ship is your favorite and what would you name them? I don't think most of my ships have names. In general, I'm not in favor of naming ships, because usually, they end up being stuck with a smooshed up version of their names. Ew.
8. Two of your fandoms are going to collide in a spectacular crossover. Which fandoms would you like to see crossed? I'm not a big crossover fan, because I think you lose some of the magic of one of the fandoms when you cross them with another fandom. But since JAG and NCIS are technically part of the same universe and have crossed over before, I wouldn't mind seeing that.
The former is no longer on the air, and I don't watch the latter now, but if they did a crossover wherein Steven Culp (Webb) and Mark Harmon (Gibbs) got to play off each other, I would buy some Mike's Hard Lemonade, order a sub, and laugh at the snarky repartee. (I really need to see Steven in something before I snap.)
9. You have to choose between reading bad porn about your fandom obsession of the moment, or no fic at all. What do you pick? No fic. The beauty of Harry Potter is I don't have to endure bad fic. I can reread the books.
10. You're asked to pick a theme song for one character/ship. What song do you pick, and for whom? Umm... I'm in sort of an angst mood, but there's a song by David Gray called, "We're Not Right." That song reminds me of Webb/Mac. It's not a happy song, but it's applicable to the dark period their characters were going through while I was writing them.
11. It's 2 in the morning and you should be doing math homework. What kind of fic do you read instead? First of all, no one should be doing math homework at 2 in the morning. *shudder* But I would probably look for some smut or angst. Right now, I'm obsessed with Weasley angst.
12. The ship that makes you go "Awww" is... Ron/Hermione. I actually get misty over them. Also, Arthur/Molly.
13. The ship that makes you want to yell, "Just have sex already, you morons!" is... Bobby/JP. Bobby is such a closet case, and JP hasn't had a relationship since he came out of the closet. They really need to get on with it.
14. The ship you're probably going to hell for shipping is... That question doesn't make sense.
15. The character you alternatively love to death and want to beat some sense into is... Danny Messer. I love him, but he's so melodramatic.
16. The character you're almost embarrassed to admit you like is... Percy Weasley is fairly unpopular, but I love him and am not embarrassed about it. Why should I be embarassed that I like a character?
17. Your very first fandom/ship was... Probably Mike/Julie or Mike/Martin from the old V miniseries.
18.The fandom you could read any kind of fic in is... Are we talking about pairing or genre? Either way, the answer is none. I won't read mpreg in ANY fandom, nor will I read fics featuring icky pairings (Hagrid/Buckbeak leaps to mind).
19. The fandom you would totally write an anonymous Mary Sue fic in is... I don't think I'd like to do that for any fandom. :/
20. The show you would bring back from cancellation... I'd like to see a Star Trek series, but probably a new one.
21. Incorporating every fandom, what are your top five pairings? This was a hard question, because in the course of filling this out, I got nostalgiac for my old ships. (In no special order):
1. Remus/Sirius: When I first read PoA, my mind immediately paired them up, so much so that I giggle when people act like they were never a couple.
2. Nick/Greg: I really miss writing for them. I look forward to being able to get back to my fic.
3. Percy/Oliver: I'm back and forth on Percy-oriented ships. I like the idea of his canon girlfriend, Penny, but we haven't heard anything about her since the third book. But Oliver was the first person I paired him with, and I just love the dynamic their characters offer. I was surprised to find such a large fan following of like-minded people, considering Rowling never gave them a scene together.
4. Ron/Hermione: It's just such a romantic story.
5. Webb/Mac: This couple is so deliciously dysfunctional, and the actors had a natural chemistry. I like my fluffy bunny ships, but I also like my alcohol-saturated angsty pairings.
Also, because I get asked this all the time: no I don't ship Harry Potter with anyone. I'm not crazy about Harry/Ginny, and while I love Luna, I'm not sure if I like them together. And Hermione... well, let's not go there.
And yes, I've actually come across a Hagrid/Buckbeak fic.
