For my dad and paternal grandfather, the answer revolves around music. I remember walking into our family room when I was little and finding my dad dancing to Spanish music. He also introduced me to Caribbean steel drums, Chet Atkins, and Pink Floyd. Plus, he bought me my first guitar, my first keyboard, and my first set of drumsticks. And he went with me when I paid for own second guitar.
While my paternal grandpa died when I was little, I have memories of sitting in his big brown boat of a car and listening to Johnny Cash.
Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of memories of my maternal grandpa. I know him mostly through pictures and fleeting memories of trips to West Virginia when I was wee little.
