sherydenWell, I'm waiting around for CSI: Miami, so I might as well update.
I heard from my advisor today, and he said some really nice things about my writing. Also, I got a bit of writing done on my thesis. I feel a bit better about where I'm at thesis-wise, but I'm still frustrated by the logistics of forming a committee. It would be easier if I knew more people outside the department, but all of my classes have been within my discipline. Le sigh.
But anyway, what did I do today? Okay, I had office hours, and then I took a walk outside so I could reflect. I find that walking helps me center myself. Technically, it was freezing out, but still, I needed to focus my thoughts.
Later, I went to the Union and listened to some live music (which is what I usually do on Mondays). They were quite good. I was the only white person there until another guy/girl/androgynous lifeform sat down a few feet from me. I guess that reinforces the notion that this city is far too segregated by race.
Ooh! I just saw the new BBM Oscar-push commercial!
Anywho, I've been feeling kind of off the past few days due to a lot of life stress, but I finally realized that I've always been a fighter, so why should I stop now? I know what I want out of life. I need to fight for it. *nods*
