Okay, I could totally buy it if Joe Flanigan were to be cast in a crime drama, because Detective John Sheppard? I wanted to jump through the screen. Sheppard always looks hot, but he really tripped my detective kink big time tonight. :D He even had razor stubble! No forearms, though.
I loved the way this John's story unfolded, from the tragic backstory to shaky career as a cop to the accompanying Johnny Cash. I liked how he was going to run off with the money but pulled a Han Solo when he remembered the trailer, and I loved his interaction with Rodney.
And this Rodney? Fantastic. First of all, he looked outstanding in that suit. *drools* And his characterization was so creepily cool. The way he laid John's past (and favorite gum) out in front of him...sweet. I'm telling you, I wanted to jump through the screen and grab him, too.
And speaking of getting me all hot and bothered, Zelenka looked SO GOOD.
I still don't like Keller, though. I thought she was snotty to Sheppard, and I liked John's discomfort at her intrusion (not to mention his mention of not liking the fact his lead coroner was replaced).
Our Wraith killer was nicely portrayed. I loved the scene where he got himself ready to head out. It created just the right atmosphere.
Speaking of music creating atmosphere, props to this show for using Johnny Cash. I grew up listening to his music, and it suits Sheppard so well.
Oh, let's not forget Poet!Todd. *loves*
Overall, this episode was fantastic. I am so glad I waited, because it was well worth it.
I am SO glad I was unspoiled for this one, too! A lot of us suspected that Nigel Griffin was the Invisible Man. But James Waston = SHERLOCK FREAKING HOLMES!!! I fucking love this show! And Peter Wingfield as Watson? Wow, I was totally unspoiled for that. Woot!
I thoroughly enjoyed Will's reaction to the Holmes/Jack the Ripper conversation. Again, I love this show.
Aw, Henry. He looked so sad as he watched Bigfoot. :( I'm nervous that the Big Guy will be killed off. :( I mean, we'd still have Druitt, but that's beside the point.
I'm neither here nor there about the Invisible Chick. We'll see how it plays out.
Henry and Ashley have a fabulous chemistry, and they very much seemed like siblings in this episode. They were adorable as they asked Helen for permission to go on their mission. And d'aww... Henry wanted Ashley to compliment him. He is so adorably geeky.
NEXT EPISODE: Tesla!!! Yes!
