Okay, done!
Right, so now I know why some people vehemently disliked the episode. They've introduced a new female character who seems to have a history with the Doctor. :|
Here are my thoughts:
Donna: Oh, hell no. Give her back right now! Donna wins at life, so there will be no killing of Donna. (I'm not spoiled, so I have no idea what's going to happen. She may well be written out, in which case, I'll be cranky. But don't spoil me.) And her kicking in the door? Yes, she wins at life.
River Song: You know what? I didn't mind her at all. Of course, I really like Alex Kingston, so that helped things along. But I like that she makes the Doctor a bit off balance, and that's something we don't get to see often. Plus, spoilers. Snerk. I don't know if she's for real, or if she's up to something, but I'm intrigued.
The General Plot: Having spent an inordinate amount of time in libraries doing research, I can attest to the fact that they can be creepy when deserted. Given that, I found this episode to be not necessarily scary, but eerie. I quite enjoyed it.
