CSI--For Gedda

Okay, I'll just make a brief comment on Thursday's CSI, now that I've had time to let it sink in.
First of all, I did cry during the breakfast scene. It was all nicely done, and I like that his last moment was with Nick, because it's a testament to their friendship. I still remember that first episode (which I actually saw during the original airing) where Nick and Warrick were competing to see who would get promoted first.
At the same time, it sets Nick up for a lot of angst and self-blame. What if he'd walked out with him... They're sure to touch on that next season. Of course, I'm saying that with a certain amount of probably unwarranted trust in the writers. It took them forever to let Eric grieve over Tim Speedle on CSI: Miami, but they did a nice job with Aidan on CSI: NY.
Also, IMDB lists one additional episode for the season. I thought this was the finale? Y/N?
I've been reading comments from people on other sites, and some of them do make a point. The writers could still technically waffle and have Warrick survive. I don't think they will, given the actor's recent problems and the fact that the exit was announced. I hope they don't waffle, because the death was well done, and having him in a coma or something next season would detract from the moment.
In any case, it's a shame to see GD go, but the exit was well-done and opens the door for loads of storyline potential next season. I honestly thought he'd just ride off into the sunset like Sara.
Wow, Nick is pretty much just the Young Turk now. :( (Not counting Greg's honorary status)
I wonder if they'll bring Jorja Fox back for a funeral episode.
