Burn Gorman is such a kick-ass performer, and I have to give him props for showing an amazing range in this episode. We got a chance to see Owen stripped and raw, and I found his scenes captivating. I shed a few tears, in fact.
Finally, we get to see an Owen/Ianto scene. I thought they played off each other well, and even though Owen was snippy and sarcastic, there was a connection between the two that I'd like to see explored more. And the look on Ianto's face when it was suggested that that Owen should make the coffee? Win.
The Owen/Tosh scenes both pissed me off and made me warm and fuzzy. Owen is a difficult man to know, but Tosh's tenacity is just what he needs. I just hope the writers don't build their relationship up only to waffle and have Owen break her heart.
Jack baffled me this episode. I'm just not getting his motivation. What's going through his head during this whole thing?
In any case, this was a good, solid episode, but I hope we don't have Zombie!Owen for much longer. Bring him all the back, writers. The novelty will wear thin.
