Crankiness and an icon pairing meme

I am so bored and restless. I did some writing today, which is good, because I have a Mal/Simon story due for a fic-a-thon story next week. Also, I'm trying to finish a couple of other things, and people are starting to prod me for the finished product.

I'm finding it a challenging to actually carve out time to write. My classes take so much prep time that I barely have time to enjoy the material I'm teaching, let alone do anything else. As much as I love to teach, part of me would love to have a job that I didn't have to bring home.


And the meme:

Make a list of all the characters in your icons. (Although you may have more than one icon of a single character, they only go on the list once.) Alphabetize it. Take the first two people on the list; that's your first pairing. Second two people; second pairing. Etc. Then write your reaction to each pairing (or a snippet of a hypothetical fic featuring each pairing).

Of course, I left all house pets and giant black and white apes out.

Random post

* I am exhausted and hungry and am about to have a Southwestern chicken wrap.

* I am officially sick of thinking about the various 18th-century revolutions in Europe and its colonies.

* They're advertising a new House today, so I'm tuning into that. The previews looked absolutely fantastic.

* I went to see 27 Dresses. It was great fun. I really needed a break from work.

* I'm going to work on some stories while I'm vegging and waiting for House.

* I'm feeling a bit lonely now that it's evening (and close to that annoying over-commercialized holiday that isn't any fun if you're single).

* I spent some time today reading through some of the extra Torchwood stuff from the UK BBC site. I'm glad I finally got to see it, as it sheds some light into the various relationships. I am now more convinced than ever that Ianto/Tosh could be a viable couple someday.
