Much Squee

Scott: I understand that James Marsden was busy and couldn't do a large role in this movie. Nonetheless, I was a little put off that the X-Men couldn't be bothered to give him a funeral at the same time they did Xavier's.
Storm: Okay, for those people who have seen these movies but don't read the comics... The character played by Halle Berry Is. Not. Storm. Yes, she has the same powers, name, and appearance. That's where the similarities end. In the proper books, Storm is a noble African woman (with an American father) who was raised largely in Kenya and was worshipped as a goddess because of her mutant ability. Halle Berry brings none of Storm's nobility and maternal qualities to the role.
Rogue: I love Anna Paquin, but I'm not fond of the movie version of Rogue, not that she was given much of a role in this film. Rogue is supposed to be spunky and kick-ass. In the current X-Men comic, she freaking leads the X-Men. In this movie, though, her only role is "Bobby's girlfriend." And I have to say that Anna Paquin didn't seem like she was having as much fun as she had during the two other movies.
Peter and Logan: Fastball special!!!! Woot!!! I have been waiting so long to see a fastball special.
Peter: He seems a bit more like Ultimate Colossus to me. Not that I mind. I heart Ultimate Peter. :D
Magneto and Xavier: I love the chemistry between Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart. They nail the rapport between Eric and Charles. I liked Magneto's understated reaction to Xavier's death and his little speech to Pyro. I felt bad for him after he lost his powers, but if he signs for a fourth movie, I'm sure they'll be back.
Kitty: I was skeptical when I saw the actress, but I'll give her credit--she pulled it off. She managed to capture Kitty's sentimental streak, her spunk, and her smarts. I hope this actress stays in the role.
Warren: Way underused. I hope his part is expanded for the second movie, because he didn't get enough to do. I wanted so bad to see him interact with Scott or Bobby.
Hank: Kelsey Grammar rocked. Seriously, his voice is exactly how I picture Hank sounding. And he said "Oh my stars and garters." Squee!!!
Jamie Madrox: Okay, his part was small, but I squeed! He was the guy who could make duplicates of himself. He's also the guy in my icon. Jamie is one of my favorite comic characters. In the books, he's a good guy, by the way.
Bobby: He iced up! Squee! I was so digging his fight with Pyro. Heh. I think Bobby has more chemistry with Pyro than he does with Rogue or Kitty. Of course, there's a lot of speculation in the fandom Bobby is gay or bi in the books.
Deleted Scenes/Alternate Endings: I haven't watched all of the deleted scenes yet, but I'm glad they cut the one where Hank growled at Logan and the one where Hank broke a villain's neck. Hank is not a killer. As for the altnerate endings, they definitely should have kept the one where Hank stayed on to teach at the school, as well as the one where Rogue decided not to take the cure.
Hopes for Future Movies:
* I'd like to see Northstar and Gambit introduced.
* Way more Warren, Peter, Bobby, etc.
* I think Jean should sit the next movie out.
* We need a new villain. Perhaps they could introduce some version of Apocolypse and Sinister. That would be the perfect excuse to bring in Gambit. Additionally, they could turn Warren into Archangel. That would kick so much ass.
* Or they could do Days of Future Past. Ellen Page is good enough to carry Kitty's part in the story. In any case, we need a Big Bad other than Magneto.
The Impala: The Impala makes its grand return to "Back in Black." I love it. :D
Dean: Dean angst!!!!! I loved it all--Dean emoting to Gordon, Dean going off on Sammy, Dean getting freaky with that vampire, Dean guilting at the end. I love that the writers of this show don't waffle and make the brothers cookie-cutter primetime fodder. They've created some complex and dynamic characters.
Sammy: Yeah, Sammy. Call and do a background check. :D Great interaction between him and Dean this week. Did Lenore say they were going to mark Sam? I might have heard wrong. If they did mark him, I wonder what reprecussions that will have later. Was that to keep him safe from other vampires?
Lenore: Yeah, well it's Amber Benson. Of course I love her. :D
Other Hunters: I like that the Winchesters are interacting with other hunters now. It creates a sense that they're part of something larger and more dynamic than just a family quest.
Greg: Finally, Greg gets a meaty story. It was brutal, watching him get beaten up. And good grief! We got backstory, too!! So Greg had an overprotective mom, so much so he lied to them about leaving the lab. Intriguing. It will be interesting to see if there are any reprecussions for Greg over killing that kid. The kid's brother was giving Greg a heck of a glare. Oh, and Greg in a suit? *melts*
Sara: Did anyone else get hot when she was in the tank top, kicking the dummy?
Nick: See, this is way better than the time Greg was horribly injured in the lab explosion. This time, the writers let Nick show some kind of emotion and express an interest in visiting Greg. We even got some Nick/Warrick banter. It's nice to see the characters interacting.
Overall, this was a great episode. It's the first episode this season that really dazzled me. It had great interaction, lots of Greg action, and a creepy case.
