So the word on Peter's powers are that he can borrow or channel the powers of someone when he comes into contact with them. Thus, he can fly when he's near Nathan, and he can tap into Isaac's precog powers after he interacts with him. No big shock. The whole empath theory has been floating around for a while. This adds kind of an interesting dynamic, though, because once he has a handle on his gift, Peter should be able to recognize other powered individuals when he comes into contact with them.

What interests me, though, is the revelation that Peter might consider going dark side. I can almost guarantee that someone in the cast lapse into villany at some point. People on some of the forums I visit have been kicking around the idea that Nathan might be a little bad already--I loathe that idea, btw, and not just because I love Adrian Pasdar. It would just be too convenient and too expected.

I'm a little torn on the idea of Peter going bad. If he did, he could be a Big Bad, due to the nature of his powers. But he's just so darned sweet. :D I imagine he'll be tempted to use his powers for evil, but his connection with his brother and his own natural goodness will stop him.
