Everytime I hear people say that things have changed, and the world is more accepting of gays, bis, and lesbians, I run into someone like this:
As most of you know, my thesis is on the depiction of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgendereds in mainstream comic books. Consequently, I'm interested in the way people view the lgbt community in general. These are some exerpts from a conversation on one of the forums I visit. The italicized words belong to a man who was "sharing" his views on the horrors of homosexuality.
1) Hetersexuality is the default condition.
What does that mean?
2) Clearly homosexuals are more promiscuous and their promiscuity is more dangerous
Really now? More promiscuous?
Someone on the forum remarked that he himself doesn't sleep around, and neither do many of his gay friends.
Here was the below-the-belt response to that comment:
3) Of course you don't. No gay does. Thats why AIDS is such a small problem in the gay community.
WHAAAAAT?
Here are his views on gays adopting children:
4) Every rule must have an exception. For the most part Gays should be treated like straights. They should pay no more taxes, they should be protected by the same police, ect. But when it comes to adopting children society should draw the line. Its one thing for gays to ask for the same rights as straights, protection under the law and that sort of thing. Its another for gays to ask for the right to indoctrinate innocent children. I won't go that far.
Here is his response to a recent Florida ban on gay adoption:
5) That is a change. The reason for this it that the law never dreamed any thinking person would give a baby to an openly gay couple. When it became obvious that such things were happening too often the law had to catch up with common sense.
And to add some levity:

My fabulous co-mod at Talk CSI gave me this. Thanks, forensicsgirl!
