Okay, so yesterday, I was on my flist, and what should I see but a big, glaring character spoiler for the upcoming season of a show I watch. Fortunately, I had already been spoiled for that particular tidbit, but had I not, yesterday's post would have done the job.

I do not want to be spoiled for the upcoming TV season. Casting spoilers? Fine. But content spoilers? Not cool. If I choose to spoil myself (and for some shows, I do--LOST would make me a basket case without spoilers), fine; but I shouldn't have the right to choose taken away from me.

At the end of last season, I was irrevocably spoiled for the finale of CSI: Miami. To this day, I still haven't watched the episode, because there's no point, now that the big finish has been ruined for me. More importantly, the season finale of NCIS was also nearly spoiled for me. That is to say that I saw a big honking spoiler post, NOT behind a cut, but in a rare burst of good fortune, I had already seen the show. Normally, I don't get to see that show on time, due to work, but for some reason, I had that night off. Otherwise, a finale I was really excited about (with good reason--it was great) would have been ruined.

Please, please, please use a cut for spoilers. Even if you think it's a minor thing, it might be a big shock to someone else. It's not hard to do a cut. I and a lot of others would really appreciate it.

I'm not going to mess around this season. Tuesdays, especially, I'll be home late and won't get to see anything on time. If I keep getting spoiled, I may have to filter people out or something. I'm sorry, but being spoiled really sucks the fun out of a surprise ending.
