Ponderings on Jack/Ianto
I'm working my way back through Torchwood Season 1. What's fun is to watch Ianto's part of "Fragments," and then rewatch "Cyberwoman."
Admittedly, "Cyberwoman" isn't my favorite episode, despite the focus on Ianto. But after seeing "Fragments," it all fits together really well, and Jack's reactions pack more of an emotional punch. It also adds an extra level of complexity to their interaction in subsequent episodes like "Small Worlds" and "Countrycide."
"Small Worlds" was actually the first episode I ever saw, and I noticed the shoulder touch and the way Ianto reacted to it. After "Cyberwoman," the tension certainly makes sense, but with "Fragments," it sheds a whole new light on what must be going through their heads. The fact that Jack takes the care to reach out to him despite the manipulation helps to add depth to their relationship.
And of course, it brings back the questions: Does Ianto still have more secrets? I suspect he does, and it might test their relationship.

Oh, and for those who are dying for an update on my milkshake acquisition (and you never know...someone might be really wondering, lol), I wound up getting one from Wendy's. They're actually quite good.
