Being mad productive is hard work
Jun. 16th, 2009 03:24 pmWhy do I always decide I to embark on a "getting things done" spree when I know I'm exhausted and can't get all the stuff done I plan to do anyway?
I'm trying to fix a dresser,do laundry, put together a shelf, clean out my fridge, load the dishwasher, and unpack boxes (though I have no storage space for the stuff IN the boxes). I only get myself frustrated when I get started on those boxes and realize I have nowhere to put anything. I need at least two more bookshelves so I can unpack the rest of my books, and I need a file cabinet for all the papers. Unfortunately, money doesn't grow on trees here.
And all of this has to be done or shelved before my shift starts at 5 pm.
At least once I get the shelf together, I can reclaim some of my cupboard space for my dishes and counter space for my toaster and grill.
Plus, I have a project I've decided I want to do this summer (not today, though). I want to take my bright red wooden toy chest, strip off the paint, varnish the wood, and cover it with foam padding an fabric. My aunt thinks it's a good idea and says I can bring it over to her house to do it (space issues here).
And I need to restring and tune my guitar.
I need a hot fudge sundae.
