SGA, real life stuff
Jan. 9th, 2009 02:37 pmWell, folks. It's here. I've got booze, stuff to make enchiladas, and lots of snack food. I know some of you watched the episode early, but I haven't seen it, so don't spoil me. I want to be unbiased and surprised tonight.
I'll be posting a Stargate picspam in honor of the franchise tonight.
I wanted to say something about Stargate: Universe while I'm thinking about it. I'm trying not to read press about the series (expect for casting news), because the plain and simple fact is--these guys don't know how to do press. Brad Wright and others just don't interview well, and if I read interviews with them, I'll just get irritated at their lack of tact. Having said that, I do plan to tune in and at least watch the first few episodes. I'll make a decision about whether to continue at that point. I'm not crazy about the show's description or the whole "younger and edgier" schtick; but who knows how much that will change before it actually airs. I do think it would help a lot, though, if they cast a familiar face already associated with the fandom. Most longtime Stargate fans want Stargate, and a familiar face would help. In any case, I've been a fan of this franchise for a long time, and I'm not going to walk away from it just yet.
So.
Anyway, I was mad productive yet again today. I cleaned out my fridge and cupboards, went grocery shopping, bought shoes, and called my mother. \0/
We're supposed to get a big pile of snow pretty soon, so I'm glad I stocked up on groceries.
Of course, the whole eating thing slipped my mind again. I had some Rice Krispies at like 6 am, and it's after 2:30 pm now. I should probably eat before I pass out on my living room floor.
