So this is the future of my franchise?

The character descriptions are out for SGU. You know, I'm all for continuing the franchise, and I'm still not going to judge the show until it airs, but these make the show really seem unpalatable and silly to me. The reason I tuned in to watch SGA (which I was also originally opposed to) was Rodney McKay. If these people want me to get excited, they need to move over a familiar face or two from SG-1 or SGA over to the new series. Otherwise, I'm really not getting excited at all.
