Top Five Meme

Okay, peeps. I'm working from home today--I thought I'd be at the office for a while, but I left early. So I'm home, and I want to do a meme. I'm snagging that Top 5 List meme from everyone and their brother.

Ask me for my Top 5 of practically anything, and I will respond in a separate post with my answers. You can ask me pretty much anything--fandom-related stuff, books, politics, music, completely off-the-wall topics, celebrity crushes, favorite John Barrowman pics, whatever.

I do have to make a caveat, though. I reserve the right not to answer any questions that could prove detrimental to me should my mother or my ten year-old cousin or my students stumble across my journal. So no overtly sexual stuff or that kind of thing. :p

Movies, Top 5 Meme

I'm cranky, because I forgot to eat and my blood sugar is rather icky right now. I'm getting ready to make pizza, though.

* I might post my thinkies on the Wolverine trailer from Comic Con later on. Right now, I'll just say it looks promising.

* I was telling some of my sc-fi fan co-workers about the cast of the next Star Trek movie, and one of them was like, "Is it supposed to be a comedy?" I can't help but agree with her. I've had a while to get used to the cast, but I'm still dubious about the movie's chance of not pissing me off.

* Someone mentioned Matt Damon's name as a possible Captain America. Do. Not. Want. This should be Captain America: Now, THIS is Captain America.

* Does anyone want my Top 5 List of anything? I'd like to have a few more before I post the answers.

Thoughts on Wolverine, Fantasy Casting of Characters

Damn. I was going to post the X-Men Origins: Wolverine trailer, but it's been removed from like EVERYWHERE. Leaked trailers are good for business, people. It builds excitement. Why go banzai crazy and force them to be taken down?

Also, with all the buzz over who will or won't be Captain America swirling around, I ask this:

Is there a character--comic, literary, etc.--that you've thought, "Oh, so and so should play that role?"

I remember back before the first X-Men movie, the one name that always came up for Professor X was Patrick Stewart. It's a good thing they cast him, because I was already picturing him in the role well before the announcement.

I had Remus Lupin all picked out, too, but the whoever did the casting on the Harry Potter movies forgot to check with me, and we got stuck with David Thewlis. D:

I have quite a few characters, both book and comic book, who I associate with an actor, but one of my favorite comic book characters is Northstar (points to the guy in my icon). He's a gay superhero with a snarky attitude. I've had him cast in my head for ages.
