Today at work was really quite busy. We had a steady stream of students coming in to talk about papers, and it's actually going pretty well. They've come in with specific questions instead of a torrent of "I dunno. My teacher made me come." So woot!

Kelley and I were terrible today. I had some strawberries when I got up, but because I was up so early, I was hungry by the time I had to be at the WC. I stopped and bought some chocolate donuts, because I figured I could farm most of them off on my co-workers. So Kelley came in, and she was like, "oh, I brought you something!" And she pulled out a bat-signal shaped Reese's peanut butter cup! :D So this morning, we both had donuts, Reese's peanut butter cups, and cola. We fail at eating healthy, but it was yummy!

I'm debating whether or not I should go see The Incredible Hulk tomorrow or be financially responsible and wait until Monday. I'm totally going either way. I missed going to Prince Caspian with my friends because I was worried about money. I don't want to miss this, too. Besides, I do have that summer class now...

Maybe I'll wait and read [profile] dexterette's inevitable review. I'm sure it's coming, lol!

EDIT: Who am I kidding? I'll be there tomorrow!

I'm hoping Iron Man comes to the dollar theater soon. I've already seen it, but Jessica hasn't and I told her we'd go when it gets to the dollar theater. I think it's still making too much money to move it, though.

Don't ask me why I'm using my Yoda icon. I have no good reason, other than Yoda wins at life.

What Fantasy Archetype Are you?
The Mentor
The Mentor
You are the prestigous Mentor! You're akin to Gandalf (Lord of The Rings), Merlin (ARthurian Legend), Obi Wan Kenobi (Star Wars), Aslan (Narnia), Door (Neverwhere), Dumbledore (Harry Potter) and Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander (Wizard's First Rule). You are wise and knowing, and know that there is not much time left for the Unlikely Hero to defeat The Totally Wicked Villain. Only you know the true motives and past of The Villain, so it's up to you to teach the Unlikely Hero all he has to know. Be careful as you'll invariably regret not telling The Unlikely Hero things sooner rather than later. You like teaching and often care very much for others.

If you haven't done my Which Books Should I Assign for Civ II poll, I'd appreciate it if you went and voted. It's for my university survey class in World Civ. I have to order the books by Monday, and I'm undecided. I need something accessible to the average student. It's a summer class, so we don't have a lot of time.

I also ask a question on the poll about whether you read the books in high school. That's an important question. I want to know this because I have incoming Freshmen who just got out of high school, and I don't want to assign a book that universally read by kids in high school.

Thanks!

Werewolves, actually. I quite like both, but I tend to be drawn to werewolves in most stories--case in point: Remus Lupin. Perhaps it's the duality associated with the werewolf. Someone needs to come up with a good, well-marketed TV series about a hot, angsty, brooding werewolf. I'd tune in every week.

And Scott Speedman. Another endorsement for werewolves.

That said, I do enjoy a good vampire, too. ;)

Eep! Thunder!!!

I had my computer struck by lightning once this year, so I'm unplugging. Be back after the Storm of Terror is over!
