Random drama

I'm supposed to go to a party at a friend's house this evening, and I'm nervous about driving there (as it's in another town). I've been to this town before, but I've never been to her place, and I always get nervous about driving somewhere new. I have a tendency to get lost, so this accounts for part of my angst. *angst*

And for those who have a burning curiosity, I am not participating in this whole content strike drama. I respect the rights of those those who are going to participate, but I'm not one of them. My real life has enough drama. I don't need it on LJ, too. And frankly, I don't think it'll make a difference. That, and I'm not really angry about anything.

Speaking of drama, Mom gets in for Easter tomorrow. That's always fodder for a long LJ post the day after.

Okay, I'm going to try and get my oil changed now. If I'm going to venture to another town tonight, I'd like to know that my car isn't going to go 'splodey. Again, more drama than I need.

An actual update

I have returned from my party, and it was quite fun. Jessica made some really great lasagna and a tray with apples and veggies. After dinner, she set out her chocolate fondue fountain and some goodies for us to dip in it.

I'm happy to report that I didn't get lost during my drive there. For those of you who don't know, I'm direction impaired, especially at night. But I got there without a hitch.

Until I reached the parking lot.

Charity pulled in about the same time I did, so we figured we'd walk to Jessica's townhouse together. Well, we trudged around for a while, and finally, we had to call her and ask her for directions. Charity has a BA in English and is about to go to get her MFA. I have a MA in History. We were both Honors students. But for all of our learnings, we got lost in a parking lot. :/

I'm meeting Charity, Jessica, and Keisha at Chipotle tomorrow. I've never actually been there, and neither have Keisha or Charity, so we're looking forward to trying it.

Mom's coming into town tomorrow, but I probably won't see her until Saturday, when we have our Easter dinner--it's on Saturday because of scheduling issues.
