Family Life--April 2006

So I talked to my aunt and uncle today. I was talking to my aunt about graduating, and I told her that I probably wouldn't walk for my Masters graduation. Nobody would be able to come, anyway, and robes are pretty expensive. I said that maybe I'd just have a graduation party when I got home. I've never actually had one. My parents didn't have one for me when I graduated from high school. Nobody had one for me when I graduated with my Bachelor's. I'd just like to have one. Well, my aunt changed the subject. Makes me feel like crap. All I want is a small family get-together, maybe a few people in someone's living room. Is that so wrong? I'll be one of the first in my family to graduate with a graduate degree, and it just doesn't matter to anyone.
