Ghost Whisperer

* This was a good, solid episode that featured the debut of Camryn Manheim's character, Delia Banks. As much as I miss Aisha Tyler as Melinda's friend and confidante, I think Camryn Manheim will add a lot to the show. Her character is still too new to make any real assessment, but her Delia is a widowed mom of one son. I was afraid they were going to make her abrasive, but she seems really nice.

* The basic plot this week was the return of Melinda's obsessive and very dead ex-boyfriend. I didn't quite understand his obsession with her. If it was that intense, why didn't he track her down before? Anyway, he got hit by a car on his way to see her and decided that Melinda should leave Jim to be with him. Jim, of course, didn't like this idea, but instead of coming off like a jealous prat, he gave Melinda the space she needed to the help the ex cross over. I really love the relationship between Jim and Melinda. They may feel a little insecure about their relationship now and again, but they don't let the insecurities sidetrack their marriage. Healthy TV marriages are few and far between, and this one is my favorite.

* There was also a subplot with Delia's son. Basically, a teenaged rock fan ghost was haunting the kid, because he'd decided the boy should have the last of his worldly possessions--a pair of backstage passes from a Grateful Dead tour. Melinda gave the boy the passes and helped the rocker ghost cross over.

* All in all, a good week.
